What is Click Pro Elite?

Yesterday, I received my acceptance email from Click Pro Elite. It’s an accomplishment I have dreamt of for nearly a decade and I wanted to share a little about it and why I’m so proud and honored to have been accepted.

When I first started out in photography, I came across the Click Community (then known at Clickin’ Moms). I devoured every class and tutorial I could get my hands on. Learning from the likes of Meg Loeks, Mickie Devries, and so many other amazing female photographers opened up my world! Everyone was so kind and willing to help me learn and my photography grew so much through their guidance.

Click Pro Elite is part of the Click brand – it’s an association of female photographers from around the world who are invited to join if, after an intense portfolio review from a panel of 3 judges, are deemed to meet the very high standards required for acceptance. Those judges include the director of Click Pro Elite, ‘Courtney Larson’ – who also happens to be one of the top 10 wedding photographers in North America. Applicants are judged on the following categories:

EXPOSURE TRIANGLE
USE OF LIGHT
COLOUR & WHITE BALANCE
COMPOSITION
PROCESSING & COHESION
TECHNICAL BASICS
CREATIVITY & INTENTION

The assembly of my portfolio has taken years. In fact, I’ve had a “Click Pro” folder on my desktop for at least 5 years now. Slowly, I’ve added images, taken some out, then added more until I finally had a collection of 150 images that I felt worthy of presenting to the panel. I was accepted on my first try and to say I am on cloud nine would be an understatement. Joining the ranks of photographers I have idolized for years (even decades) is surreal.

To date, this is my greatest accomplishment in the photography field. Beyond the distinction though is a community of women that I am so excited to continue to learn from and collaborate with. I also hope to share what I have learned with others and possibly teach within the Click Community in the future. This is just the beginning!

And if you happen to be reading this as a photographer thinking of applying to Click Pro Elite — reach out! I’d love to help in any way I can or review your current portfolio if you’d like.
